Highpoint Equine Veterinary Dentistry is a mobile dental-exclusive veterinary practice dedicated to improving equine dentistry and providing clear client communication. We offer routine dentistry including oral exams and floats as well as more advanced care such as periodontal treatment and extractions. We serve the West Michigan area including Ottawa, Muskegon, Kent, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Ionia, Montcalm, Mecosta, Newago, and Oceana counties.
Meet Dr. Kaitlin
I’m Dr. Kaitlin Soave, and my journey with horses has been a lifelong passion. I grew up just outside of Chicago and went on to attend Michigan State University for both my undergraduate studies and veterinary school. After graduating, I spent eight years in equine general practice in West Michigan, where I cared for horses across a wide range of needs.
During that time, I discovered a special passion for equine dentistry. I pursued advanced continuing education in this field and came to realize how essential — yet often misunderstood — dental care is for a horse’s health, comfort, and performance. Today, I’m thrilled to focus my career exclusively on equine dentistry, bringing both expertise and clear communication to an area that can feel overwhelming for many owners.
My goal is to make equine dentistry approachable, educational, and supportive — so that together, we can help horses live healthier, happier lives.
Meet Alicia
Hi, I’m Alicia, the assistant behind the scenes at Highpoint Equine Veterinary Dentistry!
I was born and raised in Hudsonville, Michigan, and have always had a passion for horses and veterinary medicine. Dr. Kaitlin and I first crossed paths years ago when she was my veterinarian. Since then, our paths have continued to cross through work, horses, and countless adventures—and now I’m proud to be part of the Highpoint team.
You'll usually find me assisting with procedures, cleaning and organizing equipment, chauffeuring Dr. Kaitlin from farm to farm, or behind the camera capturing photos and videos for our social media. I love being involved in every part of the practice and helping our clients and their horses have a great experience.
When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me out on the trails with one of my horses. I enjoy camping and competing in Competitive Mounted Orienteering (CMO), a sport that combines horseback riding, navigation, and the occasional realization that I probably should have paid a little more attention to the map!
